FAQ

HOW DO I ARRANGE FOR HOME CARE SERVICES?

To arrange home care services, simply call Priority Care at (954)723.7890.  We can discuss your care needs over the phone and/or we will arrange a time to meet with you and your loved one.

We can refer caregivers to provide services ranging from short shifts to around-the-clock care, and we will strive to refer and match you with a caregiver who meets all the criteria that you specify.

We work hard to ensure caregiver-client compatibility and, in most cases, care services can begin the same day.

WHAT MAKES PRIORITY CARE DIFFERENT FROM OTHER COMPANIES THAT PROVIDE THE SAME SERVICE?

Priority Care is owned and operated by a non-profit with focus on person centered care.  You can receive customized services in the comfort of your own home or other place of residence.  You can be assured that you or your loved one will receive high-quality care from caring, compassionate and reliable professionals.

WHAT IF MY CAREGIVER NEEDS TO TAKE TIME OFF?

When your caregiver wants or needs to take time off, we are available, at your request, to refer to you a replacement caregiver who will also strive to provide you with consistent, continuity of care on a relief basis.

A member of our office staff is always available during office hours and after hours, 24 hours a day, to handle new referrals, to assist current clients with their requests, and to respond to urgent concerns. The same is true for weekends and holidays.  Just call us (954)723.7890

HOW DO YOU SELECT CAREGIVERS FOR REFERRAL?

Priority Care is licensed by the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration as a nurse registry. We strictly adhere to all of the rules and statutes. We thoroughly screen and verify the identity, credentials and criminal background for every caregiver or nurse before they can join our registry. In addition, we require that every person wishing to register brings original documents to a face-to-face interview in our office to learn about the types of clients for whom they are best suited.  Before providing services to any of our clients, every caregiver or nurse must present proof that they carry Professional Liability Insurance.

You may review the complete list of the requirements for caregiver registration with Priority Care by clicking HERE.

We always have a wide range of caregivers and nurses on our registry.  A member of our office staff is available to personally meet with each client.  We recommend caregivers to you and your loved one based on the skills you request, your preferred hours, and the personality traits necessary for a great relationship.  We are known for making a high percentage of compatible client/caregiver matches because we take the extra time to listen to our clients. If you are ever unhappy with any referred caregiver, just let us know and we will refer another caregiver.

CAN I CHANGE MY SCHEDULE IF MY NEEDS CHANGE?

Yes, changes are easily accommodated. Client needs always come first.  You might need more care after an acute event such as surgery, but as time passes your schedule might change so that less care is needed.  Similarly, as care needs increase over time, we can assist in making the necessary changes. The client is in control of the caregiver schedule and we make adjustments as soon as reasonably possible.

WHAT ARE THE RATES CHARGED?

Rates are based on the type of services you require, the hours needed, and the rate requested by the caregiver who is providing the services to you. All rates are based on fair market value. We strive to refer the highest quality caregivers and nurses for a very competitive price.

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENTS DO YOU ACCEPT?

Payment options can be private pay, Long Term Medicaid or Long Term Care Insurance. We accept assignment of insurance benefits and we assist with processing the appropriate documents for billing payer resources.

Veterans Benefits (Aid and attendance)

Your Priority Care representative will be happy to explore the options available to you.

We accept all major credit cards.  We also accept payments by check.

DOES THE REGISTRY HAVE A FULLY STAFFED OFFICE?

Priority Care office is fully staffed with personnel available to assist before, during and after a client’s care begins. Clients can call (954)723.7890 for assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Someone from the office staff is always on call to provide seamless service.

DOES THE REGISTRY COORDINATE CARE WITH OTHER HEALTH CARE SERVICES?

We have strong working relationships with organizations like hospice care and palliative care providers, hospitals and outpatient centers, all types of residential facilities and other services. We will gladly assist any client in finding services that Priority Care cannot provide under our license. This is especially important once a client discontinues or transitions away from private duty home care.

ARE YOUR REFERRAL SERVICES AVAILABLE TO THE ELDERLY IN NURSING HOMES, ASSISTED LIVING FACILITIES OR HOSPITAL?

The caregivers we refer to a client can provide private duty home care services wherever the client resides.  For hospital and rehabilitation stays, we can also refer caregivers for that one-on-one experience for a client’s comfort and safety.

DO YOU PROVIDE HOSPICE SUPPORT?

Yes, we do.  We refer caregivers who are sensitive to this very difficult time.  The caregivers referred often work alongside a Hospice Provider to care for a client’s daily needs.
